When I first started out in the 'Commodities' world, I was overwhelmed.
Nothing touches our lives, and things cant get more tangible than these commodities. We all relate to the pain of the ever increasing oil prices and to the importance of rising food costs.
Yet when we get down to mitigating these risks, to understanding *all* the factors that dictate these markets, we end up creating 'instruments' that are abstract, and complex.
I don't mean to imply that I know these markets. Honestly, only a trader can even contend to say something like that. But my job gives me an opportunity to see these wonderful markets move. My job gives me opportunities to do forensics on actions taken by traders.
I thought I could put down my thoughts and my experiences in the oil markets in this space. It wont be a market commentary, well not always. It will mostly consist of me discussing one concept at a time perhaps.
Lets see how this goes?
